Azulik Uh May (6)

Nestled within the verdant expanse of the Mayan jungle near Francisco Uh May, AZULIK Uh May emerges as a unique and captivating hidden gem.

Just 35 minutes away from Tulum, this enchanting “City of the Arts” is an essential addition to your Tulum itinerary. Discover a world where nature intertwines seamlessly with artistic expression, offering a unique and immersive spiritual experience that distinguishes it from its more well-known counterpart in Tulum.

AZULIK Uh May is a haven for those seeking a deeper connection with both nature and the arts, making it an unmissable destination in the vibrant tapestry of the Yucatán Peninsula.

Our visit to AZULIK Uh May was one of the highlights of our entire Mexico trip! Unlike the more frequented AZULIK in Tulum, this location provided a closer connection with nature and greater freedom for exploration. Don’t miss the SFER IK museum and a delightful meal at Jungle Cuisine – they’re definite musts for your itinerary.

Getting to AZULIK Uh May

AZULIK Uh May lies just 25 km (15 miles) away from Tulum. It’s situated within the village of Francisco Uh May, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the Mayan jungle.

The road leading up to AZULIK Uh May is unpaved. Make sure to drive slow and carefully to prevent damaging your car.

You can find the exact address here.

When is the best time to visit AZULIK Uh May?

AZULIK Uh May is substantially less crowded than the AZULIK in Tulum, but it can still get a bit busy. We visited in early May (shoulder season) on a weekday in the afternoon, and there were only 3 or 4 other visitors there at the same time as us. If  you’re visiting during high season (December to April) try to plan your visit on a weekday and arrive at opening time.

The hours are 10 AM – 5:30 PM every day.

SFER IK Museum

Located at the heart of Azulik Uh May, this contemporary art museum is in the top 5 coolest places we’ve ever seen in the world. Some of the world’s finest artists came together to create this natural, bohemian, other-worldly work of art.

Visiting the museum is interactive and a truly special experience. Shoes and socks are not allowed inside the gallery, in order to be one with your surroundings and enjoy the experience to the fullest.

Before you enter SFER IK, there is a sacred smoke ceremony to cleanse of negative energy. We found this to be extremely calming and peaceful.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to dine at the restaurant during our recent trip. We have heard varying opinions about the food being somewhat pricey for its value. Regardless, it remains a priority for our next visit, primarily due to the magical surroundings.
